How you'll make a difference

You will make a difference by providing ICT support to key workers and Councillors across the council who in turns deliver support and services to the public in South Gloucestershire.

This is a limited term contract until 1st March 2022.

What will you be doing?

  • You will be mainly working with setting up broadcasting equipment using third party software (Public-I & OBS) and Microsoft Teams to run hybrid meetings for the council. Some meetings will be broadcast live to the public.
  • You will make sure all attendees are connected properly, and deal with any issues they may have connecting to the hybrid council meetings (a combination of physical meetings and Teams meeting integration in the council chamber)
  • You will also provide second line desktop support to just under 3000 users across the council as part of a team of 8 when not supporting hybrid meetings.

What we need from you

  • The ideal candidate will have great communication skills and be able to work under pressure with VIP users.
  • You will need to be organised and have an ICT desktop level experience in a similar environment. Troubleshooting and fault-finding skills will be essential to this role. You will be required to investigate incidents and work on ICT requests, using a ticket system (e.g Installing software, building equipment, etc…) when not supporting virtual meetings.
  • You will also have the opportunity to work from home on a rota basis and you will also be working on project tasks when required.
