How you'll make a difference

Are you a caring and compassionate person looking for a new opportunity, or have experience in working in the care sector?

Exceptional times need exceptional people! We are looking to expand our Home to Decide service and recruit to our existing team of Care Assistants, supporting individuals who have been discharged from hospital into their own homes.

All our Care Assistants are guaranteed contracted hours which will be worked on a rota basis, with various hours and shift patterns available both full time and part time.  Your business mileage will be paid.  You will be part of a team offering a response service 7 days a week between the hours of 07.00 - 22.00.

Note - we will be regularly shortlisting and offering interviews throughout April, May and June.

What will you be doing?

  • You will be working with our residents supporting them at home following a stay in hospital, aiming to improve their quality of life and increase independence.
  • If you like variety and a fast-paced role, this could be the job for you. You will be required to help with independent living and care to keep individuals safe at home.
  • You will keep accurate records of your visits and work closely with practitioners to implement care and support plans.
  • It will be your responsibility to refer issues and discuss and raise concerns as necessary in accordance with safeguarding procedures in order to protect vulnerable people.
  • You will be allocated residents within South Gloucestershire, and it will be your role to visit them in their own residential homes.

What we need from you

  • A key requirement of this role is your ability to show sensitivity and empathy in your work with people who may have varying needs both physical, emotional, and challenging behaviour.
  • It is essential that you are able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • You must have a valid driving licence and your own transportation as you will be required and expected to travel across the South Gloucestershire catchment area.
  • Although not essential, you may have experience of working in the care sector and be able to demonstrate knowledge of relevant Care Act legislation and regulations.
  • You may hold a relevant vocational qualification e.g. QCF or NVQ 2, or hold a CQC Care Certificate. If successful, you will be required to complete the CQC Care Certificate qualification.
Please note, that it is a requirement of employment that an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is obtained for this post.

Due to the nature of this role and the vulnerability of those you may be working with we encourage you to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19, however this is not essential.
