How you'll make a difference

In these extraordinary times you really can make a difference to the vulnerable residents living in South Gloucestershire you will be a valuable member of the community, ensuring the comfort and safety of those who need our assistance. 

What will you be doing? 

Great relationships will be made as you assist vulnerable adult residents across South Gloucestershire.  
 
You will be: 
  • supporting with assessing of personal care needs to formulate individual support plans
  • supporting those experiencing a change in their care requirements.  
  • helping people to maintain and develop their personal skills and will use your caring and creative personality in delivering a variety of activity programmes to promote independence.  
It is crucial that customers are provided with the help, information and support they require and that you identify and meet each individual need whilst maintaining records and support plans.  
 

What we need from you

  • You will be committed to obtain a relevant vocational qualification, if not already achieved, e.g. NVQ 3 or equivalent.  
  • You'll be able to demonstrate knowledge of professional care groups and external contacts e.g. GPs, nursing services, and emergency services 
  • You will have the ability and knowledge to manage challenging behavior
  • You will be able to demonstrate knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and codes of practice 
  • And, you'll have knowledge of specialist equipment and an awareness of manual handling techniques. 

Please note that due to the nature of this role it is a requirement of employment that an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is obtained for this post
