How you'll make a difference

As a Senior Practitioner in the DoLS Team you will make a difference by improving the quality of services provided to adults with mental health difficulties. You will have a pivotal role in ensuring performance and quality standards across the DoLS team are met and delivered to vulnerable adults in our community.
 
What you will be doing

  • On a daily basis, you will be delivering our integrated service specification within the DoLS Team.

  • You will provide a high level of support and supervision for our best Interest Assessors and administrative staff in relation to casework practice and decision making.

  • You will manage and lead the team of Best Interest Assessors to meet the needs of key statutory requirements of the service.

  • As an experienced practitioner you will keep your professional skills and knowledge of legislation and practice up to date and on occasions, you may be required to act as practice educator to qualifying and newly qualified staff.    

What we need from you

  • You will hold a relevant professional qualification e.g. DipSW, CQSW, CSS , OT Diploma and /or degree and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) or Social Work England. 

  • You will also need a Qualification as a Best Interest Assessor, with relevant post qualifying experience in an Adult Care community setting and experience of dealing with complex cases.  

  • Ideally, you will have experience of working in a leadership role, so you will have the understanding in the supervision of casework allocation and prioritisation within the team.  

  • A further desirable would be for you to hold a post graduate management qualification, if not, you will have the willingness to undertake training.
 
Please note that due to the nature of this role it is a requirement of employment that an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is obtained for this post

The team are currently hybrid working, mixture of working remotely at home and working in the office.
