How you'll make a difference

As a Civil Enforcement Officer (Parking) you will make a difference by assisting with road safety measures, ensuring the free flow of traffic and the correct use of parking spaces and car parks to support local businesses, shoppers and traders.  
 
You will also ensure the turnover of spaces in high demand areas and the effective provision of spaces for all users 

What will you be doing?
 
  • You will be responsible for patrolling the enforcement area both on foot and using a vehicle, monitoring and recording parking and issuing penalty charge notices.
  • You will provide information and assistance to members of the public as a representative of the Council. 
  • You will patrol certain restrictions using a CCTV car where appropriate 
  • You should be comfortable working outside in all weathers. 

What we need from you

  • You will be a good communicator, able to remain impartial.
  • You will be a good listener,
  • You will be able to store knowledge with the ability to adapt and react quickly to situations in a professional way. 
  • You will enjoy problem solving and providing high level public service with a self- driven nature. 
  • You need to be fit as the work requires patrolling outside on foot in all weather conditions.
 
Please note that due to the nature of this role it is a requirement of employment that a standard Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is obtained for this post.
