How you'll make a difference

As part of a highly skilled, friendly and supportive team, you will make a difference by supporting the business with the change aspect of technology and enable change within the council and manage the delivery of an effective user adoption programme.


What will you be doing? 

  • Daily you will determine the initial and ongoing training and support for new system implementations and upgrades.

  • In the role you will produce and review guidance used as part of Major Programmes, resolving conflicts between opposing views and ensure the council’s frameworks, procedures, house-style and tools are used and that any learning from the programme is brought into the division.

  • It will be your responsibility to lead on adoption related tasks and sprints related to user adoption, in addition to training and supporting users on the councils' business processes and IT systems related to the specific programme.

  • You will establish good working relationships,  as you will have substantial contact with staff at all levels throughout the council and within major programmes, including extensive consultation and liaison with senior management and project managers as well as workstream and technical leads.   
     
  • You will be responsible for analysing performance information and validation reports from systems and lead the investigation of the background reasons for poor performance and data, whether these are process, procedural, documentation, system set-up or training related.
         
  • Where appropriate your input on project and potentially BAU queries related to Major programmes and under Business as usual scenarios, ensuring that documentation is valid and kept current.

What we need from you

  • It is essential that you have the knowledge and experience of the development and delivery of service, process and IT training and user support programmes as part of wider delivery projects 

  • It is key that you have a strong background in the use and training of software packages, including MS Office (or similar) and multi-user databases. Agile frameworks.

  • We require you to be educated to a degree standard, or with substantial experience in a similar role

  • You’ll have substantial experience of training, advising and supporting end-users of new processes and systems.

  • It is crucial that you have excellent interpersonal skills with experienced of working with senior stakeholders, programme and project managers as well as workstream and technical leads to determine user training plans and support requirements.

  • You will require a high level of planning, administrative, organisational, written and verbal communication and presentation skills, including experience of the design and testing of training materials and the monitoring and maintenance of procedures.
